  1. I am every bit as disgusted as the rest of the folks who have written in about the issues with wireless connectivity involving their printers. I tried all the stuff that I found from Windows, Microsoft and HP, plus various sites that specified my printer model (HP Desk Jet 2652). I got the same go-around from them as I did with all the rest. It was like they were all using the same script and none of them solved my problem. Windows 10 has taken me down a road I didn’t think I would ever have to travel again. I’m retired and wanted to use my new computer to sort my pictures, do some artistic work, learn its new programs and just enjoy playing games and contacting my family and friends. I can’t print any thing I create and want to share. HP and Windows have really spoiled my enjoyment of using this beautiful set-up on my desk. I can’t even depend on it. I am especially disturbed that neither my All-in-One computer and the HP Desk Jet 2652 didn’t have instruction booklets with them. I got a one page hook-up diagram for the printer and one for the computer. Neither of them helped much. That alone should have warned me that “user friendly” had been thrown out the “Window!” If I need a driver how do I find out if I need one.

  2. I have a 4630 All-in One printer. wouldn’t print, got message PDf is dirty. Removed strip with ollers ,cleaned and now can’t it reinserted. any ideas.

  3. I have the HP Office Jet Pro 6978 and when I scan and try to edit the pages all of a sudden the 32 page document disappears and I have to start over. Very frustrating. I have tried all the “fixes” suggested but now I am returning this one and hooking up my previous printer. Very dissatisfied.

  4. I got done with my post, put in my name and email, click ‘post comment’, then get told there was an error–I hadn’t put down my name and email address. Bull Sh*t. I did . Damned if I’ll try to remember all I wrote about spending a week plus to try to get my new hp officejet pro 8710 to work. Print and scan Dr. can’t find the printer, so it’s of no help. My wife is right, just hook up our old one and return this one.

  5. SOMEBODY… WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO “PLUG & PLAY” ? ? ? I’VE BEEN TRYING TO HOOK UP A GIFT HP 5745E ALL IN ONE… FOR OVER A WEEK NOW… THIS IS SO CRAZY… LIKE HP PROMPTS FOR AN IP ADDRESS… WHICH ONE? STATIC OR DYNAMIC? NEITHER WORK!!! I FIND I HAVE MORE THAN 3 IP ADDRESSES WITHIN MY DESKTOP, MODEM, AND PRINTER… I’VE WORKED AT INTEL (10 YRS), SUN MICRO-SYSTEMS (11 YRS) AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH CRAZINESS… WHEN I’D WRITE SHELL SCRIPTS IN LINUX OR UNIX, I’D PUT ERROR TRAPPING AND INTERNAL FIXES SO EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTH AS ICE-CREAM… FOR HEAVENS SAKE HP… FIX YOUR INSTALLATION SOFTWARE (WIZARD) SO THE PROGRAM CAN FETCH ALL THE REQUIRED INFO THE FIRST TIME AND LET THE $USER GET ON WITH THEIR TASKS AT HAND!

  6. The two links direct to the exact same ‘upgraded’ version of the Print and Scan Doctor and the option to download the ‘previous version’ from within the installer just doesn’t work.

Could you please update your links instead of directing us to the crap HP is trying to push.

    Thank You.

  7. Have tried everything to make my OfficeJet Pro 8610 print with Windows 8, to no avail? Even plugged in a cord to the printer to make it wired, still will not work! Help?

  8. I’m trying to download the HP scan doctor. It says it’s downloaded, but I can’t find it in my download or desktop files, where does it go? I tried to download it again & it says that it has downloaded & running, but I’m not seeing where this is happening. I’m getting extremely frustrated. Having difficulty printing anything. My printer seems to print only when it wants to. Didn’t have these problems until the upgrade. have registered for Hp eprint as that seems to be the only way things will print when it feels like it. Have enough ink to print what I want. I have a HP Office Jet 4630. Please help!!!! I’m about ready to throw it out the window!!!

  9. I have changed computer. My new computer came with Windows 10 installed. I am connected wireless from the computer to my HP5600 series printer/scanner. I want to scan to “My documents” file, rename, and drag to proper file. I don’t know how to do this! I’m an old guy and need help. Thank you!

  10. My printer keeps messaging that I have an “Ink Cartridge(s) Problem ” I changed the cartridges and the same message comes up. One time going through the same process, it printed a test page. Please help. I need to do work using this printer right now!!

  11. HP Print and Scan Doctor V4.9
I download it just fine, it gets about half way through the green bar (showing Progress) but it never finishes. I am still using Windows XP Service Pack three. I get an error report let me quote: “Http://192.168.1.1” this parameter incorrect?
My IP address is 192.168.1.100 there are two extra digits past the 1 at the end. There are several other places where the address is called out as being 192.168.1.1 without the two extra 00 at the end. I do not know where HP is collecting the wrong information parameter from? I have no problem connecting to the internet and searching youtube. I can access my internet e mail account just fine? so where is the problem???
Where is HP print and scan doctor 4.9 going to collect this incorrect variable from?

When I tried to use the tip-sheet to update version 4.9 my response from HP was there is no updates??

I would very much like to use this program. I run a HP F2110 All in One Printer-scanner-copier .

I have a problem using this printer with my Win. XP Pro . When I first installed the printer using the installation CD, I was able to query the printer about the ink-level status, and I would get the page with the graphic showing how much ink was remaining (estimated ink levels). I was able to get this information from the page showing printer options. Now this option has gone away, so is my ability to generate a test page and clean the printer cartridge, level I, Level two, the Intermediate clean, and the third the do it all over, try cleaning again . I cannot find any way to resurrect these options, I want them back!

Why does the printing software look like it’s a Microsoft product? Why doesn’t/isn’t there a way to open the HP printer application? the icon does not have a place to click on “HP printer information” or contact HP, or How to diagnose a printer problem? It’s like all that information is hidden behind someplace I can’t seem to find? Please contact me about the scanner printer doctor version 4.9 not working. and where is the HP printer software hiding?

      It is very sad.

  18. I’ve upgraded to windows 10 and can’t work out how to scan multiple page documents. The + (for next page) which was bottom left on windows 8 is no longer here. How do I do this now?

    1. Windows scan is different from full featured software came with your HP printer. You should install full featured software for your hp printer model.

    1. If you are having issues with the scan quality. Check you have right driver. Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer’s name. if driver is correct then adjust scan DPI.
